THE SYSTEM: pattern series

...For making professional looking dresses in a few easy steps!

Starting with the leotard. The leotard's dimensions remain the same within each of the eight size categories, K through LL...no matter what series is printed. All the sleeves within the same size category are inter changeable. The changes, series to series, are in the inset line for the skirts, the skirts and the panties. Therefore, you would alter any pattern within a size group the same way...it doesn't make any difference what series you are using. You don't have to start over every time you cut a new pattern. Your last pattern is your MASTER PATTERN. Next the skirt.

The hardest part about designing a skatewear dress is creating the skirt. Specialty Sportswear has done that part for you. In the Multi-series there are 5 different inset skirt attachments to choose from. The 900 skirt is a size series for little girls under 4'tall, it isn't meant to be be interchanged with the other skirt series.

We use the circle panel and the flat panel as the two basic construction methods for our skirts. The 200 Series and the 1000Series are based on the triple circle, C-3. We use the circle panel and the flat panel as the two basic construction methods for our skirts... The 200 Series and the 1000 Series are based on the triple circle, C-3 skirt. The front panel is one circle, the back panel is the second circle, the third circle is split and inserted as the side panels sitting in between the front and back panels. Any circle skirt consisting of more than one circle is set up in this way. there is never a seam sitting at either front or back mid points. The C-3 is the fullest skirt in our pattern groups. The 200, 400, 500, C-1 skirts and the 1000 C-2 skirt are featured in the Multi Series
section. The C-2 200, 500, 400 skirts, as well as special adaptations of the C-1 are in the 800 series.

The flat panel skirts are less then a single circle in circumference, therefore, they are very tailored. These skirts are found in the 400, 500, and specially selected 800 patterns. The 1100 pull-on skirt is between the C-1 and C-2 in fullness. the 1100 Add-on is a flat panel wrap skirt. These two 1100 skirts are found in the Multi Series patterns.

Finally, customization. It's easy to change one series bodice to another...at the side seam, the inset line is the same series to series. The only thing that changes is the shape and slope of the cut line across the bodice to the mid-point. Stack the bodices, aligning the side seams, as well as the bottom point of the side seam...re-draw the info that you need from each bodice. Use the appropriate skirt and panty for the new pattern. The Tunic and Angel series can be changed to any Multi Series pattern too!

The 900 Series, Kinderwear, is a grouping of patterns based on the Multi Series designs but rendered for the little skater under 4' tall...they are not meant to be part of the multi- series. The designs in the 800, 300, 700, 600 are also available for the littlest skater designated with "K" for sizing purposes.
